Creston Water System in the running for  3.4 million in grant proceeds if membership  gives the nod  to apply | Around The Town

The Creston Water System membership holds a meeting  tonight, Tuesday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at the Westwind Boat Launch located at 321 Westwind Church Road in Campti. While the primary  purpose of the meeting is to elect board of directors, Natchitoches Parish President   John  Richmond encourages all members to attend.

“I know we’re not in the water business,” said Richmond,  during Mondays night’s regular council meeting,  “however, it  is really important because there’s a large grant, that would also aid the Sandy Point Water System, to the tune of $3.4 million.”

Richmond continued, “ It hinges on a vote of the people that are in that water system so it’s imperative that they show up so there’s a quorum. It’s  held outside so there’s plenty of room for social distancing.” Fifty-one percent of  membership  constitutes a quorum.
