Louisiana’s annual free fishing days are slated for Friday and Saturday, June 12-13. These two free fishing days are a great opportunity for beginners to try out fishing. And for those who already have a fishing license, it’s a great time to take a friend or family member who has never been fishing out on the water for the day.
Just remember, before going on that fishing trip make sure to get up to speed on fishing regulations such as size, season, catch limits and gear restrictions.
And after free fishing weekend, those wishing to continue angling who are 16 years old and older must obtain a Louisiana fishing license when fishing in any Louisiana public waters. For more information or to purchase a license, go to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) website at https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/
