Upon graduation from Natchitoches High School, a true patriot and water lover, Jack enlisted in the US Navy and served on several aircraft carriers, the most notable , the USS Midway.

After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he married Mary Louise Bobbitt of Natchitoches. They were blessed with four wonderful children during their 72-year marriage. Ironically, their first born, Lydia Ann, was delivered by her future mother-in-law, Mary P. Keyser, RN. ATT

Throughout the majority of his life, Jack was an expert hunter and an award-winning fisherman, both complimented his diverse cooking talent. Jack’s innate affinity of the water led him to the perfect, peaceful place to reside for the rest of his days, “Jack’s Shack” in Grand Isle. Affectionately adopted by the town as a true native islander, his door was always open with a dog by his side.
