She served as the First Baptist Church secretary for over 15 years, church pianist for over 50 years, and as a church hostess for many years as well. She loved playing cards, but especially playing canasta “with Aunt Duffy’s rules.” Very few could stump her at Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy, or Scrabble. She also loved finding new recipes to make for the family and was a stellar cook. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and loved her family immensely. She enjoyed living in Zwolle, partially because of the tamales, but also because she truly believed that the best people in the world live here.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Sabine Retirement & Rehabilitation Center, as well as, heart-felt love and gratitude to friend/caregiver Doris Stewart.

Services will be conducted by Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Zwolle beginning at 9:30 on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 Tuesday, June 2, 2020 also at the First Baptist Church in Zwolle. The funeral will be officiated by Reverends Jerry Penfield and Marty Williams. Internment will be at St. John’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Many, La.
