As of noon, Monday, May 25, according to the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) there are 37,809 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 28,700 presumed recovered and 2,585 deaths reported.
On Mondays, LDH also reports the number of positive cases in Certified Adult Care facilities. Today’s total is 5,065 cases among those residents. There are 607 COVID-19 cases among residents of other adult residential facilities in the state.
Additionally, hospitalized COVID- 19 patients total 847 with 102 of those on a ventilator. The total number of residents tested for the virus is 303,898.
Natchitoches Parish cases have risen to 52 with 13 deaths and 1,743 residents tested. The parish’s estimated population is 38,000.
Sabine Parish cases remain the same at 40 with no deaths and 948 residents tested. The parish’s estimated population is 24,000.
Vernon Parish cases total 24 with three deaths and 1,192 residents tested. The parish’s estimated population is 47,000.
Nationwide totals are 1.7 million cases with 353, 000 recovered and 99,459 deaths. According to the COVID Tracking Project 14.6 million people in the US have been tested for the virus.
Globally, there are 5.49 million cases with 2.23 million recovered and 346, 000 deaths.
