Around The Town was notified by a reader that Mr. Joseph Procell has passed away. He served in Europe during War II and recently celebrated his 100th birthday.

Joseph C. Procell was born on Tuesday, March 23, 1920 in Zwolle, LA. He passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle, LA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Grissom) Procell; parents, Jim Procell and Lucia (Martinez) Procell; step-mother, Louvina Procell; and six brothers and five sisters. Mr. Procell served his country in World War II.
He is survived by his son, Lee Patrick Walters of Bennington, NB; and two daughters; sisters: Jane Borden of Noble, LA, Creola Sepulvado of Noble, LA, Leola Blankenship of Alexandria, LA and Paula Thompson of Shreveport, LA; brother, Paul Procell and wife Linda of Many, LA; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers: Grayson Parrie, Darrell Sepulvado, Jason Ezernack, Jerry Cox and Harold Anderson.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

He told me about the “good old days” with my grandparents Jim & Julie Cordova, even some which included my own daddy Huey Cordova and that he had pictures he wanted to share with me but was always “TOO BUSY” to go see him….I’m so heartbroken to learn of his passing. May they have a wonderful blessed reunion in heaven.
