Wednesday, April 29 COVID-19 Update | Around The Town

As of noon Wednesday, April 29, there are 27,660 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state as compared to 27,286 the previous day. Of Wednesday’s number, 17,303 are presumed recovered, and 156,506 Louisianans have been tested for the virus.
Additionally, statewide 1,629 are being treated in a hospital with 244 of those on ventilators. Reported deaths total 1,802 and unconfirmed deaths are 43.
To date, Sabine Parish confirmed cases total 16 with 1 death. 354 Sabine Parish residents have been tested.
Natchitoches Parish confirmed cases total 79 with four confirmed deaths. 773 Natchitoches Parish residents have been tested.
Vernon Parish confirmed cases total 16 with two confirmed deaths. 551 Vernon Parish residents have been tested.
Neighboring parishes are as follows. Caddo Parish has 1,525 confirmed cases with 101 deaths and 12, 877 tested; Bossier Parish has 285 cases with 15 deaths and 5,139 tested ; Rapides Parish has 259 cases with 10 deaths and 2,321 tested; Red River Parish has 24 cases with five deaths and 189 tested; and Desoto Parish has 191 cases with 11 deaths and 1,235 tested.
Nationwide, positive COVID-19 cases total 1.04 million with 118,000 recovered and 59,692 deaths. Global positive cases total 3.14 million with 957,000 recovered and 219,000 deaths.
