Tuesday April 28 COVID-19 Update | Around The Town

As of noon Tuesday, April 28, there are 27,286 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state as compared to 27,068 the previous day. Of Tuesday’s number, 17,303 are presumed recovered, and 151,108 Louisianans have been tested for the virus.
Additionally, statewide 1,666 are being treated in a hospital with 244 of those on ventilators. Reported deaths total a 1,758 and probable unconfirmed deaths are 43.
To date, Sabine Parish confirmed cases total 16 with 1 death. 337 Sabine Parish residents have been tested.
Natchitoches Parish confirmed cases total 77 with three confirmed deaths. 763 Natchitoches Parish residents have been tested.
Vernon Parish confirmed cases total 16 with two confirmed deaths. 545 Vernon Parish residents have been tested.
Neighboring parishes are as follows. Caddo Parish has 1,497 confirmed cases with 100 deaths and 12, 519 tested; Bossier Parish has 277 cases with 14 deaths and 4,935 tested ; Rapides Parish has 255 cases with 10 deaths and 2,273 tested; Red River Parish has 23 cases with five deaths and 185 tested; and Desoto Parish has 189 cases with 11 deaths and 1,191 tested.
Nationwide, positive COVID-19 cases total 1.02 million with 115,000 recovered and 57,175 deaths. Global positive cases total 3.06 million with 907,000 recovered and 213,000 deaths.
