Sunday, April 26 – Covid-19 Update | Around The Town

As of noon Sunday, April 26, there are 26,773 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state. Of that number, 14,927 are presumed recovered. A total of 143,036 Louisianans has been tested for the virus. Louisiana’s population is 4.65 million.
Additionally, statewide 1,701 are being treated in a hospital with 265 of those on ventilators. Reported deaths total 1,670 and probable unconfirmed deaths are 59.
To date, Sabine Parish confirmed cases total 13 with no confirmed deaths, however, there is one presumed death. 310 Sabine Parish residents have been tested. Sabine Parish estimated population is 24,000.
Natchitoches Parish confirmed cases total 73 with two confirmed deaths. 610 Natchitoches Parish residents have been tested. Natchitoches Parish estimated population is 38,000.
Vernon Parish confirmed cases total 16 with two confirmed deaths. 501 Vernon Parish residents have been tested. Vernon Parish estimated population is 47,500.
Neighboring parishes are as follows. Caddo Parish has 1,448 confirmed cases with 93 deaths and 12,297 tested; Bossier Parish has 270 cases with 13 deaths and 17,079 tested; Rapides Parish has 247 cases with eight deaths and 1998 tested; Red River Parish has 22 cases with four deaths and 159 tested; and Desoto Parish has 185 cases with 10 deaths and 1,086 tested.
