Tuesday, July 21, Louisiana COVID-19 Update | Around The Town

As of noon on April 21 the Louisiana Department of Health reports a total of 24,523 positive cases of coronavirus which is 331 more than yesterday. Additionally, 1,798 of those folks are hospitalized with 297 of those on ventilators. There are also 1,405 reported deaths.
And, 56.25% of COVID-19 deaths to date are among African American residents and 34.34% are white residents. The most common underlying conditions among COVID-19 deaths to date are hypertension, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.
Sabine Parish cases total 14 with no deaths, Natchitoches Parish cases total 58 with one death, Vernon Parish cases are 14 with one death, Rapides Parish cases are 213 with seven deaths, Red River Parish cases are 21 with four deaths, Webster Parish cases are 79 with four deaths, Caddo Parish cases are 1,310 with 83 deaths and Bossier Parish cases are 241 with 11 deaths.
