Edwards moves Louisiana elections down another month in response to COVID-19 | Around The Town


In response to the continuing threat of COVID-19 in Louisiana, on Tuesday, Gov. John Bel Edwards issued an order moving the state’s presidential primary election from June to July, and July’s election to August.

The order was issued at the request of the Louisiana Secretary of State, Edwards said.

The June 20, 2020 Presidential Preference Primary is rescheduled for July 11, 2020 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. ; and the July 25, 2020 election is rescheduled for August 15, 2020 from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
