As of noon Saturday, April 11, the Louisiana Department of Health reports 761 additional cases since yesterday, bringing the total to 20,014 positive cases. Also, 51 deaths were reported bringing the total 806.
Additionally, 2,067 COVID-19 patients remain in hospitals with 470 of them on ventilators. And folks in all 64 parishes are infected.
Orleans, Jefferson, East Baton Rouge, Caddo, St. Tammany and St. John the Baptist parishes continue to lead the state in the number of cases. Louisiana has dropped to seven behind Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Michigan, New Jersey and New York in state U.S. cases.
The nationwide total is 521,457 with 29,263 recovered and 20,126 deaths. Globally there are 1,733,792 confirmed cases with 392,781 recovered and 106,469 deaths.
According to data provided by the COVID Tracking project, as of yesterday 2.5 million coronavirus tests had been administered in the United States so far. In Louisiana 92,280 tests had been administered as of yesterday.
