Howard Kenneth Morrow – Obituary | Around The Town

Howard Morrow

Howard Kenneth Morrow, 91 years of age, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2020. He was born in DeRidder on January 29, 1929 to Beryl and Lillian Morrow. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Clara Mae (Hicks) Morrow; brother, Franklin Morrow; and great granddaughter, Starr Allen.

Dutch was a loving husband and father, a lifelong educator in Texas. He retired to Toledo Bend, where he and Clara had created a beautiful homestead throughout their working years. There he spent his days fishing, gardening, serving at First United Methodist Church of Many and being a friend to all. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. We take comfort in knowing how many people he touched with his kindness.

He is survived by his son Paul Morrow and wife Karin of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Virginia Ann “Ginger” DeWinne and husband David of Spring Branch, TX; sisters: Gwendolyn McRae of Shreveport, LA, Frances Cole of DeRidder, LA and Rebecca McMullen of DeRidder, LA; brother, John Morrow of Deridder, LA; five grandchildren: Lancer Smith of Spring Branch, TX, Amanda Aguilar of Spring Branch, TX, Stacey Smith of Spring Branch, TX, Margrit Morrow of Oakland, CA and Philip Morrow of Austin, TX; thirteen grandchildren: Joshua Mason, Ava Smith, Lily Smith, Demetri Mosca, Anthony Mosca, Joseph Mosca, Gina Aguilar, Trinity Powers, Gavyn Powers, Kendra Powers, Desiree Powers and Baby Morrow (on the way); along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Many or The Shriners Hospital.

A private graveside service was held at New Hope Cemetery on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
