Richard Daniel Dartez was born on Sunday, April 3, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA. He passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 in Alexandria, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Dallas John Dartez and his sister, Kathy Moreaux.
Mr. Richard Dartez was a loving and giving person, who was cherished by all who came to know him. He was employed in the oilfield industry all his life, which allowed him to selflessly provide for his wife and three sons. He was a man of many talents and interests including finding treasures in things of old, whether it be the Indian artifacts and petrified wood he so often found around his home or in his collections of coins and other treasures he found while metal detecting. Although his job may have kept him away from his family at times, he cherished the times he was home with them, by enjoying fishing, hunting, and being in nature with his family and friends. He was sure to share his outdoorsman expertise with not only his sons, but his grandchildren and any other person who took the time to listen. The many life lessons he taught them will not soon be forgotten.
Richard lived at Toledo Bend for twenty years. He was a volunteer firefighter with South Sabine Fire and Rescue.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Arsement Dartez of Toledo Bend, LA; sons: Nicholas Dartez (Roselean Dartez) of Toledo Bend, LA, Josh Dartez of Lake Charles, LA and Samuel Dartez (Kolbie Wade) of Toledo Bend, LA; mother, Irene Marie Dartez of Toledo Bend, LA; brothers, Dallas “Johnny” Dartez, Jr. (Veronica Dartez) of Laredo, TX and Randell Dartez of Toledo Bend, LA; sister, Vick Vernon (Dale Vernon) of Denham Springs, LA; grandchildren: Kyle, Kaitlyn and Hunter of Lake Charles, LA, Christina of Toledo Bend, LA, Haylee and Jayden of Grant, LA, and Samantha and Zayden of Toledo Bend, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
