Sabine Parish reports its first case of COVID-19 as Louisiana continues to see a spike | Around The Town

Sabine Parish reports its first case as coronavirus continues to spike in Louisiana. Around the Town has received word the wife of Pleasant Hill Police Chief Ray Williams has tested positive for the virus that is sweeping across the state, nation and world.
That brings the total statewide positive cases to 2,747 which is 442 more than yesterday. Additionally, now 55 of 64 parishes are reporting cases.
Those parishes with no reported cases are Red River, Caldwell, Franklin, East Carroll, West Carroll, Tensas, Concordia, St Helena and Cameron.
Caddo Parish cases have jumped to 140 and Bossier Parish cases have grown to 37. Natchitoches and Vernon parishes remains steady at 2 each while Desoto Parish reports 13 cases.
The largest concentration of cases remains in Orleans Parish with 1,170 and Jefferson Parish at 548.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Louisiana Office of Public Health continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, and folks are reminded to practice social distancing by staying at home unless necessary.
