As of noon today, March 26, the number of reported cases of coronavirus reported in Louisiana has grown to 2,305 with 53 out of 65 parishes reporting cases. This is 10 more cases than the day before.
Additionally, nearby Caddo Parish positive cases have grown to 115 and Bossier Parish cases have increased to 32. To date, no positive cases have been reported in Sabine Parish, and neighboring Natchitoches and Vernon parishes have remained the same at 2 cases each.
The first reported case of COVID- 19 in the state was on March 3 in the New Orleans metro area. Just 10 days later the state number of positive cases had risen to the double digits, and by March 20 there were over 500 cases.
Folks are reminded Governor John Bel Edwards issued a stay at home order on March 22, directing all Louisiana residents to shelter at home and limit movements outside of their homes beyond essential needs in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
