This morning, Natchitoches Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Sheriff Victor Jones, Chief of Police Mickey Dove, Natchitoches Fire Chief John Wynn, District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington, Parish President John Richmond, Tenth Judicial District Court Judge Lila Sylvestor, Tenth Judicial District Court Judge Desire’e Dyess, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, NatCom 911, Teresa Basco-La. GOSHEP Region 6 Coordinator, Northwestern State University, Alliance Compressors, Anita DuBois with Natchitoches Parish School Board and other officials attended a statewide webinar at NatCom911 Center presented by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness discussing Consequence Management and Support of the potential impacts of COVID-19.
There are no known cases of COVID-19 in Natchitoches Parish at this time.
Governor Edwards issued an Executive Order on Friday afternoon resulting in some closures and guidelines to follow in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.
Sheriff Jones said the Natchitoches Office of Emergency Preparedness and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office are closely monitoring updates issued by GOSHEP, the Louisiana Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control.
