Election season is in full swing and as such political signs are popping up all over the city of Natchitoches. During a recent regular board meeting, Mayor Lee Posey reminded candidates that political campaign signs are not allowed to be erected, displayed, or posted on any publicly owned property or right-of-way.
Additionally, said mayor Posey, before placing a sign on private property seek permission from the property owner. Lastly, folks are reminded that signs placed in front of a sidewalk do not meet the setback requirement.
We must treat everyone fairly, said mayor Posey. He also noted city officials will remove all sign that do not comply with the city’s ordinances so if a sign is missing, candidates can stop by city hall to retrieve them.
