Wendy E. Worsham has been named the Natchitoches Parish A+ Coalition’s first recipient of its Technology in the Classroom grant. Worsham who teaches the Allied Health Program at Natchitoches Central High School was recognized during the Natchitoches Parish School Board meeting on Feb. 6.
As the grant recipient, Worsham will receive $6,308.85. The dollars will be used to purchase a multi-touch smart table that allows students to accurately explore human anatomy. The five- foot long, three and half foot- tall table, said Worsham, allows students to use 3D technology to travel through the body. She went on to say that the more accurate learning helps to better prepare students for a variety of professional healthcare careers. She described the table as one like that which is used in the School of Allied Health at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.
Worsham has been teaching at Natchitoches Central High School for three years, however, her teaching career spans 10 years and she has been in EMT for over 20 years.
