Details are sketchy this morning into a early morning shooting that is being reported to be accidental. Around The Town was informed this morning that an unidentified male subject was hunting in the Peason area around 1 a.m. this morning when he accidentally shot himself. Two Sabine Parish Sheriff’s deputies found the victim stuck on the drop zone. According to the information that we received early this morning, the male victim was seriously wounded in his right leg and left foot and ankle area. He was airlifted by Air Evac to a Rapides Parish hospital for further treatment. Louisiana Wildlife officials were called in to assist with the investigation after a dead deer was located at the scene. Fort Polk CID officers is also assisting in the investigation.
