In 2 Corinthians 5:7, the Apostle Paul states, “For we walk by faith, not by sight” and that’s exactly the way our Momo/Old Momo lived her entire life.

Mary Ruth Ebarb was born on June 17, 1921, to Paul and Florence Ebarb, She became Mary Ruth Loupe when she married the love of her life Rogers Loupe on June 21, 1947. Ruth was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle, LA. She served on many committees throughout the years including the Council of Catholic Women and Saint Theresa’s Circle, She was a member of the Saint Vincent De Paul Society, a Eurcharistic Minister, and a Lector. Ruth also distributed communion to shut-ins every first Friday, received the Bishop Medal for Outstanding Service, and helped with many more numerous activities of the church. Ruth was also very active in the community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Tamale Fiesta and was named the very first First Lady of the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta in 1995. She also helped with the Ministerial Alliance and was an Auxiliary member of the Floyd Gordon Post of the American Legion. Ruth was extremely proud of her service in the United States Army. She served from 1943-1945 with a tour in France during WWII. She finished her military service as a Technician Fourth Grade as well as having obtained several honors. Ruth lived 98 years and the legacy she leaves behind will always be that she loved her God with all her heart, mind, body, and soul. Her Christian faith was her greatest accomplishment by far. May we all love Jesus like she did.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Rogers P. Loupe; her parents, Paul and Florence Ebarb; brothers, Joseph Donald Ebarb, Jesse Patrick Ebarb, Paul Fredrick Ebarb; sisters, Kathryn Boudreaux, Vivian Ebarb, Dr. Frances Bybee, and Theo Ezernack; and great-great granddaughter, Meredith Rebecca Lee.

She is survived by her three children, Chris Loupe and wife Becky of Noble, LA, Phyllis Lee and husband Gary of Noble, LA, and Tim Loupe and wife Dianne of Springdale, AR; sister, Polly Moyer of Franklin, TN; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers are: Gary Wayne Lee Jr., Steven Lee, Brandon Parrie, Bryan Lee, David Lee, and Chris Adair.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Toledo Nursing Center, Superior Hospice of Northwest Louisiana, and all of her special friends that she cherished, especially her Rosary group “the girls”. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Zwolle, LA or Zwolle VFW Post 5187 and Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Richard Norsworthy officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at 5:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Zwolle, LA.
