January 16, 1950 – November 26, 2019
Gerald was born on January 16th 1950 at Frasier Hospital in Many Louisiana to G.A. “Buddy” & Lanell Beasley. He was the oldest of five children. His siblings were Richard, Bill, Steve & Kim.
Gerald began school at Negreet, had an interim in Chester, Montana & finished up at Many High School. Soon after graduating from Many High School, Gerald served in the United States Army.
He was an innovative and hard-working man, and after completing his term in the army, Gerald began a career in the Oil & Gas industry that carried him all around the world in many different capacities and spanned close to 50 years, touching thousands of people’s lives. Even today it’s not an uncommon thing to randomly encounter someone in a remote corner of the world that has either met or worked with him somewhere along the way.
Even though he had great enthusiasm for his spectacular international career in Oil & Gas, his true passion was ranch work with cows and horses. Spending his formative years in rural Sabine Parish Louisiana in the 1950’s on his grandparents’ farm left a lasting impact on Gerald, that would shape him into the man that he truly was. Those experiences ingrained in him the cowboy way of life that would never leave him. He was truly happy when sitting upon a good horse tending his cattle.
Gerald loved his family and enjoyed nothing more than visiting with them. He was one of the most loyal friends that you ever could hope for, generous to a fault & and had an unstoppable positive attitude that fueled a vigor for living life that is sometimes paralleled but rarely surpassed.
Gerald is survived by his children David & wife Brandy Beasley of Many Louisiana, Shane Beasley of El Dorado Arkansas & Luke & wife Kandie Beasley, also of Many Louisiana, brothers, William M. “Bill” & wife, Charlotte Beasley of Magnolia, Texas and Stephen B. & wife Barrett Beasley of Many, Louisiana. Gerald had nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Gerald passed away on the morning of Tuesday the 26th of November 2019 – 50 days shy of his 70th birthday. He was surrounded by his family & friends in the days prior to his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Buddy & Lanell Beasley, his brother Richard Alan Beasley & his sister Kimberly Lanell Beasley Bedrich.
