Late Tuesday evening November 19 at approximately 11:48pm, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #5 along with SWEPCO responded to 911 reports of a mobile home fire in the 3300 block of La. Hwy 494 near Natchez according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
4 fire units and 15 firemen from NPFD# 5 responded to the scene.
The fire also spread to a neighboring residential structure.
Deputies say the mobile home was a total loss and firefighters were able to save the residence, however, it received moderate damage.
Both the mobile home and residence were owned by Eddie Dean and Edith Elie.
The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical at this time according to NPFD Chief John Nicholas.
Deputies closed La. Hwy 494 to traffic while firefighters were working the fire.
