A Natchitoches man is dead following a three-vehicle crash on Hwy 6, east of Robeline Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:10 p.m., Mack Calhoun, 90, was traveling westbound on Hwy 6 when he lost control and crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. An 18-wheeler driver steered right to avoid the crash, but Calhoun collided with the left rear tires of the trailer. Calhoun continued westbound in the eastbound lane and collided head-on with another 18-wheeler.
Calhoun was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both truck drivers wore seatbelts, but the second driver received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Routine toxicology tests are pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
