Natchitoches Man Arrested On Felony Drug Charges near Fairview Alpha

A Natchitoches man on probation was arrested on felony drug charges by Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies during a traffic stop in north Natchitoches Parish early this morning according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday morning May 24 at approximately 1:13am, Deputies assigned to the NPSO Patrol Division stopped a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria on US-71 near Fairview Alpha for a traffic violation.

Deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as 53-year-old Louis Dean Pullig Jr. of Natchitoches, La.

During a NLETS/NCIC criminal history background check, deputies learned Pullig was on felony probation until 2021 for a prior CDS Schedule II Possession of Methamphetamine conviction.

Deputies say while speaking with Pullig and a passenger in the vehicle, they gave conflicting stories leading deputies to believe criminal activity existed.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered Pullig’s wallet and while searching it discovered a cellophane bag inside the wallet containing suspected methamphetamine.

Louis D. Pullig Jr., 53, of the 100 block of Hwy 6 East, Natchitoches, La. was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Possession of CDS Schedule II Crystal Methamphetamine-2nd or subsequent offense.

Probation Violation charges are pending by the La. Department of Probation & Parole Office.

Pullig remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

Deputies say while interviewing Pullig, he admitted he purchased the narcotics for personal use.

The seized narcotics will be submitted to the crime lab for narcotics identification analysis.
